This site is in honour of Freddy, a much loved son, brother and friend. Always in our hearts, we have so many memories and will love him for ever.
According to the letters and emails that have been pouring in, Freddy was 'a character', 'a comedian', 'an extrovert', 'funny', 'quirky', 'thoughtful', 'kind' and 'courageous', among other adjectives. Yes, he was all of those things, but to us he was just 'Freddy'. He was a cheerful little boy who turned into a hard working and sociable young man. He was loving his life in his flat in High Brooms and his job as a Finance Systems Analyst at Travers Smith and was partway through his CIMA exams when he received the devastating news that he had a life-limiting brain tumour (an Anaplastic Pilocytic Astrocytoma, Grade 3). He faced his diagnosis with great bravery and adapted to life with all the disabilities and medical issues that his illness and treatment threw at him. (There isn't room to list these here: you wouldn't believe it unless you lived it.) Against the odds, Freddy made it to his 30th birthday, which he celebrated with silly hats, balloons and cake in his bedroom, where he spent the last few months of his short life. We will miss him terribly.
Those that we have loved don’t go away.
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard but always near.
Still loved, still missed, still very dear.

Our plumber, Elliot Jones, refused payment for a recent plumbing job, having heard our news about Freddy. So we have turned his fee into a donation as a thank you.
Thinking of you all at Christmas x
